Point and Shoot? | Katie Ballantine Photography

Typically when I shoot pictures of my own kids, I have my iphone handy or use one of my professional cameras.  However, there are certain circumstances that call for something else.  For instance, this weekend we had the blizzard come through and burry the East Coast.  I would have loved to bring my “fancy” camera outside in the blizzard, but I also didn’t want to risk dropping a piece of very expensive equipment in the snow.  So, I brought out the ole Panasonic Lumix.

The Panasonic Lumix Point and Shoot camera that I have is a beast.  It is shock resistant (ok if dropped), sand-proof, waterproof, etc.  So, I can bring this baby underwater at the pool, take shots on the beach, and bring it out in the snow without worrying at all.  It also has manual functions, which my photography side loves to play with.

Here are a few shots I took with my Lumix DMC-TS4.  These were outside in full sunlight.  Oh, and it also takes video!
