Nostalgic Film Sessions

Film photography has been my passion for over 20 years, and I absolutely love the results that come from my film lab.

I use 35mm film because I love the colors, the grainy goodness, and the way it captures light.

The results give me such a feeling of nostalgia and warmth that I want my clients to feel as well when they see their family photos.

Film is perfectly imperfect, and I’m excited to share it with you!

Film Sessions

I shoot using mostly Kodak Professional Portra400 film because of the gorgeous skin tones and the way it handles different lighting situations.

Sessions typically take place in and around your home or outdoors, but I can also use film in my home studio if you want.

Film photography can be a part of any other session.

Just let me know you’d like some images taken with film!

Film F.A.Q.

• What will my images look like?

35mm film photography will have beautiful colors that are true to life. Your images will be timeless because there are no trendy filters or presets applied. Film also flatters skin without the needs to smooth it out in photoshop.

• What is grain?

Grain is a characteristic of film photography that you won’t find in digital photography unless it is added artificially in post processing. Many photographers today add grain to their digital images in order to mimic the look of traditional film. The grain adds character and also makes the image look “real” compared to digital images.

• How will I get digitals from film?

Once I take the pictures with my film camera, the images are on the film itself. I remove the film from my camera and send it to my professional lab where it is developed and scanned. These scanned images are hi-res digitals that you can print and share just like images from digital cameras.
