What is Macro Photography?

Macro photography is a technique used by many photographers to get close up to subjects. Normal lenses on cameras are unable to focus when really close to a subject. In order to get very close and still be able to focus, a photographer needs a macro lens.

How Does Macro Photography Apply for Newborn Sessions?

My professional macro lens is perfect for baby features like toes, eyelashes, fingers, ears, and hair. With a standard lens, these features wouldn’t be able to stand out and have a blurred background like the examples below. Babies change so quickly, so I find it important to document these tiny little features with a macro lens.
