Moyer Family | Film Session | Katie Ballantine Photography
I am often asked why I love to shoot film so much over digital. For me, film is an art that cannot be replicated using a digital camera. The tones, the dynamic range, the softness, and the 3-D effect are all so magical. I choose which film I use for a session based on the color profile I want in my finished art. For golden, warm tones, I use my Kodak Portra film… for light and airy pastel tones, I choose my Fuji film. The Moyer family’s session was in a field and on the beach, and film captured their images so perfectly. The light and color tones are so…

Voss Family | Film Session | Katie Ballantine Photography
I have been absolutely loving all of the film sessions this fall. The lighting and colors are so perfect, and my families are thrilled with their images. The Voss family has been coming to me for their photographs since sweet Marlee was a newborn, and now she’s an adorable three-year-old! Her brothers are so much fun during sessions, and seeing the three of them together is so special! Enjoy these gorgeous film images.

Miles Jack | Newborn | Katie Ballantine Photography
My sweet nephew decided to join us a little earlier than expected, but I am so glad he’s here! He’s so itty bitty and so perfect. His big brother, Colton, is definitely a proud big brother and loves to help out. Colton loved holding him for the pictures, so we got some really sweet shots of the two of them together. I’m such a proud Auntie!! Enjoy the pictures.

Amelia is ONE | Frederick MD Baby Photographer
I’ve had an entire year of photographing Amelia, and I’ve loved every single session! It’s so fun when parents participate in the Watch Me Grow Package because I get to capture the babies from fresh newborns to mobile one-year-olds. Every stage is so much fun. 3 month olds have big smiles, 6 month olds are sitting up and laughing, 9 month olds are really interactive and sometimes crawling around my studio. One year sessions often end in a cake smash, and it’s so much fun to watch them dig in. Amelia decided that exploring her cake with her feet was the safest option. It was adorable!

Nora and Tessa. 3 Weeks New | Frederick MD Newborn Photographer
There is something so special about photographing newborn twins. They have a bond with each other right from the beginning that is amazing to witness. Nora and Tessa were were such a dream to photograph, and their big brothers are so sweet with them! This is such a beautiful family, and I loved every second of their session.

Lila | Frederick MD Baby Photographer
It’s been almost a full year since I photographed Lila as a newborn, and she’s still so adorable. She’ll be ONE this month, and her Mama contacted me to take some portraits to celebrate. Lila was a little shy at first, but warmed up with some smiles and exploring of the studio. I love when I can capture babies being themselves. I think her favorite prop was my little white bed. I’m sure she would have taken it home with her if she had been allowed.
