Getting so Old! | New Market MD Child Photographer | Katie Ballantine Photography
Every once-in-awhile, my kids come home from school or from an activity, and something about them screams “take my portrait!”. Today when David came home from school, it was one of those times. I couldn’t believe how big my baby was getting, and his blue shirt was a perfect color for him (and a change from the graphic pokemon and Lego t-shirts he’s usually wearing). Childhood goes by so quickly. Document as much of it as you can!

What Do We Wear for a Newborn Session? | Frederick MD Newborn Photographer | Katie Ballantine Photography
One of the most common questions I receive is “What do we wear to our newborn session?”. Often times, parents are thinking they need to find a bunch of cute outfits for their newborn, which is the last thing they have time to be doing! And the thought of multiple outfits and outfit changes is a nightmare. Well, I have good news! The answer is, your baby needs NOTHING for their newborn session with me! SAY WHAT?! My style of newborn photography is very organic and neutral, and the best thing your baby can wear, is absolutely nothing. Of course, bring them dressed in something in the car to keep…

Watson Boys | Frederick County MD Child Photographer
I had my nephews for the weekend while my sister headed to Frisco to watch JMU play in the national championship in football. It was great to be able to spend so much time with them, and also great to be able to photograph them.

Nora and Tessa | Frederick Maryland Baby Photographer | Katie Ballantine Photography
I was thrilled to have adorable twins, Nora and Tessa, in the studio for their sitter milestone session. They’ve changed so much since their newborn session, but they are just as cute as ever. These sweet girls are pros at crawling, so they were excited to crawl around and explore the studio. I’m so glad I have enough space and a pretty room for babies and toddlers to explore during sessions. The entire session was shot on film, and images were scanned and developed by Richard Photo Lab. Rivers is ONE! | Frederick County Baby Photographer | Katie Ballantine Photography
I’ve been photographing this sweet boy since he was a newborn, and his gorgeous mama since she was carrying him. I cannot believe it’s already time to share his one-year session! He is such a fun little man with an adorable personality. I could look at that smile all day! I”m sure his mama and daddy are loving life with this beautiful baby boy. Happy 1st Birthday, Rivers.
