The Kemmerer Family | Berks County PA Film Photographer
Film photography is something that many people are not used to seeing anymore. I love that I can bring the magic of film back to my clients. It’s truly an art form that was somewhat lost, but has so much beauty. The way light is captured, colors are displayed, and the wide dynamic range make it the perfect way to capture images. I met with the Kemmerer family a couple weeks ago, and we had an amazing session. The sunlight was perfect, the temperature was mild, and the love between family members was evident. Here are some favorites from this dreamy film session! Fuji400h, Canon 1v

The Rhein Family | Berks County PA Film Photographer
I photographed the Rhein family on film a few weeks ago, and they were such troopers in the cold and wind! Thankfully, we still had some pretty sunlight to fill our images with some warmth. I love all of the photos from their session. Here are a few favorites! Portra400 Film, Canon 1v

Moyer Family | Film Session | Katie Ballantine Photography
I am often asked why I love to shoot film so much over digital. For me, film is an art that cannot be replicated using a digital camera. The tones, the dynamic range, the softness, and the 3-D effect are all so magical. I choose which film I use for a session based on the color profile I want in my finished art. The Moyer family’s session was in a field and on the beach, and film captured their images so perfectly. The light and color tones are so…

Voss Family | Film Session | Katie Ballantine Photography
I have been absolutely loving all of the film sessions this fall. The lighting and colors are so perfect, and my families are thrilled with their images. The Voss family has been coming to me for their photographs since sweet Marlee was a newborn, and now she’s an adorable three-year-old! Her brothers are so much fun during sessions, and seeing the three of them together is so special! Enjoy these gorgeous film images.

Miles Jack | Newborn | Katie Ballantine Photography
My sweet nephew decided to join us a little earlier than expected, but I am so glad he’s here! He’s so itty bitty and so perfect. His big brother, Colton, is definitely a proud big brother and loves to help out. Colton loved holding him for the pictures, so we got some really sweet shots of the two of them together. I’m such a proud Auntie!! Enjoy the pictures.

Sunflower Fields Forever | Berks County Film Photographer
There is just something about the way film captures light that makes my heart sing. I set up a family session with another local photographer, and we had to meet at sunrise (6am!) at this sunflower field (3o minutes away). The kids were good sports about it and actually enjoyed seeing all the flowers. After our session, I brought out my film camera to take a few pictures.
