All About Studio Milestones
How Long Are They?
Studio Milestones are typically my shortest sessions. Believe it or not, I can get a variety of gorgeous pictures in just 15-20 minutes. This is great for the kids and also the parents. Babies and kids are typically “over it” after 20-30 minutes of a photo session, which is totally ok!
However; sometimes babies and kids need some extra time to warm up to the idea of pictures, so we’ll take as much time as needed.
All of the images in this blog post were captured in a TEN MINUTE TIME SLOT.
Are There Backdrops?
Studio sessions are a great way to get shots of your children in a neutral space. The studio has all white walls and white furniture so that your children are the focus. This also helps the pictures look great on anyone’s walls, regardless of home decor and color choices.
I do not use colored or printed backdrops or backdrop stands. This allows children to move all over the room, and allows me to capture their portraits no matter where they are. There’s no trying to keep kids on a backdrop!
Can Siblings Come?
Yes! My studio sessions allow siblings being photographed at once. I get shots of each child alone, as well as shots of the siblings together.
What Kind of Shots Do You Take?
I let the babies and kids run the show when it comes to the shots I get. I want them to be natural and show their genuine personalities, so I don’t force certain shots or poses. There is typically a mix of candid shots, detail shots (hair, eyelashes, toes, etc…), and “looking at the camera” shots.
